Nom rare surtout porté dans le Rhône. Ce devrait être un toponyme : il existe un chemin du Parrayon à Chassieu (69). Le nom est sans doute à rattacher au mot "parra", qui dans les parlers méridionaux a le sens de jardin, enclos, terre proche de la maison.
